9. Pray against Negative Influences
Slide 5 of 5
“And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those are perishing. The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.” (2 Corinthians 4:3-4)
Dear Lord,
Please remove the veil over our husband’s eyes that keeps him from seeing the truth. Remove the influences of the god of this age. Lord, we live in a world full of information overload, so we ask that you would remove anything that he’s susceptible to look at or read easily that distorts that truth of who you are. Remove people, shows, or websites that keep his mind away from your truth. We ask that you would flip the switch and illuminate his mind so that the truth of the gospel becomes clear and he will see that you sent your son Jesus, to die for him. Open his mind to you and remove the access and the desire to negative influences hindering any acknowledgment of you. Thank you for your mighty power!
In Jesus’ Name,
Amen
10. Pray for a Gentle and Quiet Spirit
“Wives, likewise, be submissive to your own husbands, that even if some do not obey the word, they, without a word, may be won by the conduct of their wives when they observe your chaste conduct accompanied by fear. Do not let our adornment be merely outward – arranging the hair, wearing gold, or putting on fine apparel – rather, let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God.” (1 Peter 3:1-4)
Dear Lord,
This last prayer is for us as wives. Lord, teach us how to be submissive even if our husband doesn’t quite believe in you yet. We trust that you have him in the palm of your hands, and you are in total control. We ask that you would give us the strength than in you, we may not speak up with words, but rather with a gentle and quiet spirit from within. Lord, we ask that our husbands are influenced by our actions and sweet reactions. That it’s not through our words, but through the way we conduct ourselves. May you radiate off of us from the inside, that our husbands see your heart through us. Allow them to be so attracted to our fear for you, that they want to partake in what we have inside of us. We want to honor you and want to be made precious in your sight. Teach us to be slow to speak and give us wisdom to choose our words wisely. Purify our hearts and make them more like yours and may we one day win our unbelieving husbands over to you. We love you so much Lord, thank you for giving us the gift of our husbands, we surrender them to you.
In Jesus’ Name,
Amen
Always remember that God loves your husband so much more than you ever could, and that he can make miracles! Let these prayers embolden and comfort you as you wait on the Lord.
