Here is a quick and easy paper daffodil craft with a free printable template.
We originally made these several years ago for Daffodil Day, which is celebrated in Australia in August each year to raise both money and awareness for Cancer. I’m resharing it today for all of our friends in the Northern Hemisphere who are experiencing daffodil season right now. Perhaps you have a daffodil day over there too.

It’s that time of year when the weather is beginning to tease us with temperatures that feel very much like Spring. Today I saw the first pink blossoms of the season and the daffodils are just beginning to come into flower.
Daffodils not only herald the change in seasons, they are also a symbol for the Cancer Council. They signify hope for a chronic illness that has touched the lives of many, if not most of us, at some point in our lives.
We were particularly moved by the story of Finlay, whose mother I know through blogging circles. He was diagnosed with a rare case of stage 4 Hepatoblastoma (liver cancer) before the age of two. At one stage it didn’t look good for Finlay, but he’s an incredible, tough survivor and has bounced right back. You can follow his story on Instagram.
I love to display fresh daffodils in a vase on our kitchen table. But, as beautiful as the daffodils are, they aggravate hay fever allergies in our house. I know it’s not the best idea for our youngest daughter, who gets the sneezes for the entire season.
So I decided to create a colourful, printable daffodil craft.
Our printable daffodils don’t cost anything but a little bit of your time and a few basic craft supplies.
You will need:
- The printable template above (it will be sent to you via email when you enter your details)
- Craft sticks
- Glue stick and scissors
How to:
Print out your template and cut out the different shapes.
Glue the flower shape to a craft stick.
Fold the orange shape along the white fold lines. The scalloped edges become tabs to stick it together with.
Roll your shape into a cylinder and glue it together, then glue in place over the orange dot on the flower base.
That’s all there is to it!
