This reindeer pillow box printable is a quick and easy DIY gift idea that’s perfect as a little something to hand out to kids’ friends. You could also use it as wrapping for gifting small items (like jewelry, or mini stationery items).
Best of all, we’re giving the reindeer pillow box template away for free!

Sometimes you need a quick and easy small gift to hand out at Christmas. Most of the kids’ friends hand out candy canes or Santa chocolates, with a hand-written message in a card.
My kids are a bit lazy though. When I buy them cards for their friends they usually can’t be bothered writing them out and they don’t end up getting used at all.
These reindeer pillow boxes are a cute alternative to handmade cards. Admittedly though, printing and folding them together would take at least as long as writing out a card – ha ha ha. But they’re a little more fun to make.
Also, with minimalism being one of the biggest current trends, I find it difficult to give people more ‘stuff’ they neither want nor need, but I still want to give them something. Because, you know, it’s Christmas. For this reason I like to give edible gifts, and you can package edible gifts very cutely! It gives them a ‘handmade’ element.
I’ve also created a line art version of the template so that you (or the kids) can colour your own version of the pillow box.
How to make the reindeer pillow box
You will need
- White card stock for printing (ordinary paper is a little to flimsy to hold the shape well, I tried it)
- A scoring tool or blunt butter knife
- A ruler and cutting mat
- Glue stick
- The printable reindeer pillow box template (put your details into the box provided and it will be emailed to you)
How to
Print the template to card stock and score the fold lines with your scoring tool or blunt butter knife. It’s particularly important to score the curved fold lines so that the pillow box folds properly once you glue it together.
Cut the shapes out.
Glue the box together by putting glue along the white tab.
Squeeze the sides gently to puff the shape out and fold the top and bottom edges inwards. They should fold along the lines you have scored.
Glue the ears to the front, and the antlers to the back.
Fill with treats or small items to gift and you’re done.
Aren’t they cute?
